My Linear Diary inspired by Australian landscapes.
Alex Ritchie | 19th Aug – 29th Sept 2025
Gallery 74 presented My Linear Diary, a solo exhibition by Alex Ritchie. Across 32 works of drawing and printmaking, the exhibition traced the lines of the Australian landscape as a quiet meditation on place, light, shadow, and space. The works were created over the course of a year and were deeply informed by the natural beauty of Kangaroo Valley and the wider Southern Highlands, where the artist had lived for the past decade.
Created en plein air and in collaboration with the Printmaking Sisters studio in Robertson, the pieces pared the landscape back to its essence, becoming a visual diary of perception and response. My Linear Diary reflected both a personal connection to the land and a universal invitation for viewers to slow down, look closely, and rediscover beauty in its most elemental forms
