EXHIBITION NEWS

Coming soon to Gallery 74, the exhibition Paths to Presence by Barbara Nell invites visitors to experience a unique exploration of light, landscape, and human connection. Visit for more details https://www.gallery74.com.au/barbara-nell-paths-to-presence-exhibition

The Artist Behind the Exhibition

Barbara Nell has built a reputation for capturing the subtle interplay of light and shadow across diverse settings. Her approach is grounded in observation and presence. Rather than imposing a narrative, Barbara invites viewers to engage with the scenes as if stepping into them. This method encourages a deeper connection, not only with the artwork but with the environments depicted.

Get Behind the Artist

We're incredibly proud to share that Barbara Nell is a featured competitor in this weekend’s prestigious Bombala Plein Air Art Competition.

Taking place this Saturday, April 18th, the event brings regional artists together to paint outdoors, capturing the stunning autumn colours of Bombala's Riverside Park under the 2026 theme, "Colour in the Country." It is a fantastic opportunity to see Barbara’s masterful approach to landscape and light in action before her full collection arrives at our Robertson gallery.

If you are exploring the Snowy Monaro region this weekend, we highly encourage you to stop by the riverside to watch the creative process unfold!

Event Details:

  • Date: This Saturday, April 18, 2026 (Live painting runs from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM)

  • Location: Bombala Riverside Park, 2 Therry St, Bombala NSW
